Why I think the CWA stinks

1) Organized all LNS (AT&T Local Network Services/formerly TCG) switch techs, consipring with AT&T to unionize only a portion of them. Some techs with signed union cards were LAYED OFF from AT&T with no representation and only silence as replies from CWA officials when confronted with the issue.

2) Made an AGREEMENT with Tucker Technologies to have Tucker hire former CWA members layed off from AT&T - at around $17/hr with no benefits and questionable union representation - contracting to AT&T doing similar work they did before getting layed off.  How insulting to say the least.

3) A technician and CWA member I know at AT&T was recently reassigned to a workplace 70 MILES from his former reporting office.  His one way commute to work is now 70+ miles.  In the old days that would be met with a company paid move or union grievance by the CWA.  Now - a long ride to and from the office every day.

I wonder if Tucker is paying CWA for referring to them all the highly skilled technicians layed off from AT&T now being paid dirt for their talent and experience?

When are WE gonna wake up and organize a real labor movement instead of allowing ourselves to be exploited by CORPORATIONS, unions, tech staffing agencies, and U.S. policies SQUEEZING THE MIDDLE CLASS OUT OF EXISTENCE from under our noses?
